This is a very nice post and I would just like to share; during my usual trips to greenhills, I came across a stall that sells almost every Havaianas that you could think of. Makes me cringe that I found several Luke Stedman Bones edition there, 3 weeks after I bought my pair from R.O.X. I looked at the other models and I swear nobody would be able to tell the difference, unless people check em out up close. Makes me weak spending a lot of money on a good pair of authentic slippers, only to find an identical kind for P250...may tawad pa. Good thing about this is that now I know where i'll buy my christmas presents. Fellow consumers, beware nalang.
I've been to Divisoria and there are stalls there selling havaianas with hangers and tags that have holograms.
on closer inspection, the fakes are lighter than the real ones possibly because they are not as compact, have holes on their sides left by air bubbles. their straps are more plastic than rubbery in the sense that they are not as malleable as the real ones. the straps are also glossier. the small oval marks on the footbeds of the fakes are more pronounced but the marks at the bottom are not. for havaianas babies, the garters on the straps have poor stitching and are not that thick. they dont come with the blue hangers the real ones come with.
